3 Unexpected Outcomes of Detoxing

12 Jun

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do a detox but too scared to do it on your own?

Fear not!  Nectar Yoga is hosting a 3-day weekend detox retreat where you can let us do all the work for you.  All you need to do is show up, relax and be open to trying new things.

Detoxing has some wonderful benefits – the biggest one being a better sense of wellbeing, which translates to feeling darn good in your own skin.

But here are 3 outcomes of doing a detox that you may have never imagined.

1. Ongoing Healthy Changes

A detox program (even a short-one) often results in longer-lasting and ongoing healthy changes.  By proving to yourself that you can live without certain foods (like sugar or coffee) without going off the deep end, gives you a new sense of self-empowerment.  It puts you back into the drivers seat – where you let your brain make your food choices and not your cravings (or emotions).

2. A Sweeter Smelling Fragrance

Is bad B.O. getting you down?  How about stinky breath no matter how well you brush your teeth?  And dare I mention odours coming from..ehem…down there?  What we eat plays a major role in how we smell.  Clean up the body and sweeten your eau de parfum.

3. Creativity and Clearer Thinking

A crappy diet has huge effects on our cognitive processes.  It’s amazing how a healthier diet can lift that brain fog you’ve been wondering around in and opens up the doors for your creative juices to kick-in and flow. Doing a detox before starting a big project – is a sure fire way to create better results.
